Donald Buaku,
AICP, assoc. AIA
President / Lead Designer
Donald Buaku brings two decades of urban design, urban planning, land development and architecture
experience. He is a
Certified Planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners, and an Associate of the American
Institute of
Architects (assoc. AIA). He has worked around the U.S. in both the public and private sectors.
Originally from Ghana, he
obtained his Bachelor’s and Post Graduate Degrees in Architecture from KNUST University. He later
graduated from the
University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with two master’s degrees in urban design and urban planning.
Donald is passionate about design, placemaking and infrastructure planning - with the consciousness that
placemaking is
only successful if the underlying infrastructure is well-planned to support it, and the surrounding
community is
well-included to own it. He is also able to work at multiple scales from the intricate design of a logo,
through
building design, to large-scale master planning.
He also uses his God-given skill as an artist and orator to bring clarity and simplicity to complex
concepts when
engaging varying audiences. He has been nicknamed 'Donaldo da Vinci' for his ability to combine art,
design, and
engineering in the built environment.
